2019

Lacock Village Hall, 1-2 June

This year's Spring Exhibition saw over 140 framed original works of art displayed, in a great variety of sizes, styles and mediums. We also had browsers of original mounted work and mounted prints as well as a large choice of greeting cards. The weekend was well received by the public who thoroughly enjoyed viewing the high standard of paintings, as well as being refreshed by the tea, coffee, cakes and cream teas, and watching and chatting to the artists at work.

Here is the opening display, we hope you enjoy the paintings too.

Our next exhibition in the Lacock Village Hall will be on the 3-day Bank Holiday Weekend 24-26 August, we hope to see you there.

2018

Lacock Village Hall, 25-27 August

For this year's Bank Holiday Exhibition we limited our paintings to around 150 so they could be more effectively displayed. We also had a lot of cards as well as a stand of original A5 art and browsers of original mounted work and mounted prints. We tried a modified layout arranged in a circular format which made it easier for visitors to walk around the displays. Below is the starting displays, 40 or so new paintings were hung as work was sold.

The exhibition was of a particularly high standard, it was very well received by crowds of visitors who bought a record number of artwork and cards.

The cafe, where visitors could enjoy refreshments and cakes whilst watching demonstrators paint, was as poplular as ever and has become a firm favourite with visitors and artists alike.

Lacock Village Hall, 19-20 May

The recent growth in the group saw a big increase to around 230 paintings hung in the Village Hall for this year's Spring exhibition weekend, along with a good selection of original A5 art, greeting cards and unframed mounted work. It was rather quiet on Saturday due to other events that day but busy on Sunday. And the cafe, with its famous cakes and 'artists at work' was as popular as usual!

Here is what was on display, a wide variety of mediums and styles that we are proud of:

In the cafe area this year the children of St Pauls Primary School, Chippenham displayed their competition entries for our visitors to judge. The children had produced some very impressive work and it was well received by all.

ArtHouse Cafe, Melksham, 3-28 April

We were pleased once again to support the ArtHouse Cafe in Melksham's Market Place. This year we had 55 paintings hung in the cafe. It is operated by Melksham Rotary volunteers to fund local charities and well worth a visit - it has a 5 star trip advisor rating for value!. Opening times are 10:00 to 4:30 Monday to Saturday.

Lacock Village Hall, 2-3 December

For the first time we decided to hold a Christmas exhibition to end the year. We had over 150 original paintings displayed along with a great selection of greeting cards printed from member's paintings. The event was well received by the public and we were very pleased with the level of sales.

Our cafe was popular as always (news of our fabled cakes has spread far and wide!) and visitors could watch members painting in the same room.

Here are some of the paintings on display (new paintings were continuously added to fill sales 'holes'):

Lacock Village Hall, 26-28 August

Our 3-day Summer exhibition held in the Village Hall over the Bank Holiday weekend was a very popular event. We displayed over 180 paintings along with a large selection of greeting cards and unframed mounted work. As usual the cafe ladies did us proud, keeping the many visitors amply refreshed.

Here you can see the variety of paintings on offer:

The children had produced some very impressive work and it was popular with the visitors, attracting a high level of voting. On 16 June Margaret (our President) and Stephen went to the school to present the prizes to the excited children.

ArtHouse Cafe, Melksham, 3-29 April

We also open our 'Tea Room' for the duration of our Lacock Village Hall Exhibitions; teas, coffee, squash and lovely home made cakes and biscuits, enjoy.

We also have a Demonstration by the Artist Soraya French who will be working with Acrylics and mixed media. The demo will be on the 7th September 7pm at Lacock Village Hall and will be open to non members at a charge of £5, to include a coffee/tea and a biscuit. Soraya has an impressive loose, impressionist style often using bold and vibrant colours, check out her web site.
