Angela Weir Martin
Angela grew up on the Isle of Wight where her early interests included candle-making, ceramics and fashion design. Her inspiration came from a supportive, creative family, mainly her mother, a talented, animal portrait and seascape artist.
She didn't study art and didn't paint for years, having had no interest in painting after her school painting project was stolen when she was a young girl.
After losing her father, Angela and her mother visited France and immersed themselves in a week of painting. Her mother became seriously ill and Angela spent many hours and weeks beside her in intensive care, doodling with watercolours and rekindling her interest.
Angela lives between Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight to be by the sea, which features in a lot of her work in, various guises. She specialises in oils and has refined her focus into social interaction and seascapes.
