Why do we need a specific file naming format?
It is important that each image uploaded to the website has a unique file name so that the system doesn’t ‘see’ any duplicate files. Duplicates confuse the system, resulting in incorrectly displayed images that require external expertise to unravel and fix the issues, incurring extra expense to LAG.
Unfortunately, if we receive images with incorrect file names and missing information we will return them to you and ask you to resubmit them using the correct format.

Steps to follow
- Re-save your images using the correct file naming format, which is to prefix the painting’s title with your own initials (using three initials is best in case we have members with the same initials). For example: EAWbeachscene or EAWholtchurch.
- If you have two or more slightly different versions of the same painting (in different colours for example) please add the appropriate number (1, 2, 3 etc) after the title in the file name. E.g. EAWbeachscene1 and so on.
- Save your images as jpeg or jpg.
- Send your gallery images to committee@lacockartgroup.co.uk
Tips for taking photos of your paintings
- Ensure good lighting.
- Edit the image and crop out the areas around the edges, so all you can is the painting - it looks much better. There's an example below.
- In your covering email, state the medium used for each image.
Biographies
If you want to edit the bio that appears on your personal gallery page, or send a new one, please send the whole thing again typed in the body of the email. Please don’t send a PDF or other document type because they cannot be imported into the website and means the person uploading the images has to retype the information, which is time consuming.
Thank you for following this process.
