Graham Brewster
Graham is a retired Geography teacher who, from childhood, enjoyed sketching and painting. If, as a child, he was bored his mum would say, "do a picture"! He remembers having a picture displayed in a local fete at the age of seven. He couldn't do art at "A" level as it wasn't an option at his school, but he continued to draw through his interest in Geography - completing field sketches or making diagrams for student worksheets. Nowadays he resists the temptation to annotate his pictures!
Until Graham joined LAG he completed most paintings while on holiday - now he has an incentive to give more time to art and prepare pieces for the group sessions. Watercolours are his main interest, probably because they are so easy to pack in a suitcase, but he hopes to branch out into other mediums.
Most of his creative ideas come from the physical environment so he feels lucky to be surrounded by the inspirational landscape of rural Wiltshire.
