Winter 2023 art challenge
In December 2023 our Winter Art Challenge featured Eric Ravilious' painting, 'Train Landscape', which members were invited to reimagine and create a version in their own unique style. Judging took place during our 'Christmas Frolics' meeting, the last one of the year before Christmas, with those present voting for their favourite painting. As you can see from the entries shown below, people put their own spin on the original in a variety of ways, some with a touch of humour, some with a seasonal feel, and some using collage, to name a few.

Mike Wilson's witty take on the original was a clear winner - his painting is below. Mike won an amazing painting of a humming bird by the well known artist, Jamel Akib. The painting belonged to one of our members, Tricia Douglass, who, sadly, passed away this year and was very kindly donated to LAG by friends.
